Production blog: Finalized, likes and dislikes

Hey blog! its me again. My group and I have officially finished our editing part of the filming. Today i will be talking about what I liked and what I disliked about the process of this film. Starting off with my likes. I liked putting the clips together. I liked this because firstly it was easy for me to do because I have done it in previous projects. Secondly I enjoyed seeing how the clips looked coming together and making one big thing, There's something about how it makes you feel closer to being finished.  Another thing I liked was doing the voice overs. Although it was one of the hardest things to edit, it was fun to record. Listening to my group mates voice overs was also enjoyable. Something I enjoyed most of all was getting together with my partners and filming. Again although it took us so many tries, the process of filming was very fun. Watching the final product with my group mates was also a highlight of this film. I don’t have many dislikes, but the ones i do mainly

production blog: final pieces

Hey blog! its me again. Today i will be talking about adding the final details to the film. My group and I only needed to add the music to the film. This was an editing part. After that we had to make the quality better. There was more but I was in charge of the music. I downloaded the music and proceeded to add it. As I added the music i did it little by little. I added one song and cropped and put it in the correct spot. This took me forever to do. The reason this took me long was because it was hard to match the music at the right spot and get it to the right length. I have never added multiple audios to capcut before. Although, when i added the voice overs i had gained knowledge of this action of editing. I attempted to do the same thing i did with the voice overs. At first i continued to get lost but i got the hang of it. I did this for every song. The only thing that was missing was the sound effects. To be honest adding the sound effects was the hardest. It was difficult to kno

Production blog: Finding our music

Hey blog! its me again.  After my group mates and I finished editing we only had the music part left. We all agreed with using free music instead of asking for copyrights because it would be risky and could take way longer. We went on Royalty Free music. We decided to split up and find our own songs that we were looking for and vote on the best one. I opened royalty free music on youtube and searched up the theme of the song we were looking for. I went through at least 25 videos before finding the first one. As I listened to the songs and audios I pictured and played the film we made. After finding my first one it took me a while to find the next 3. At first I was relieved to find at least one, 5 minutes later i found the second one. It took me really long to find the third one i was close to giving up. I searched for hours to find one. This was probably one of the most hardest things to find for my final task. I decided to take a break after 7 videos because i began to get frustrated

production blog: editing the final part

Hey blog! it’s me again. In the previous blog I began my editing for my film. I continued the rest of the editing today for my part. I started off by watching what I had already. After seeing what I was missing I gathered the clips together and continued by adding them and cropping them as I go. After I completed dong this I watched the video and made sure the length of the video was not too long. I re-watched the video about 3 times. I confirmed the video with my group mates before carrying on. After they confirmed I Proceeded with making sure the quality of the video was good. I did this because it would help with out the video comes out and it will help my group mates with their part of the editing. I emailed my groupmates the video so the quality would come out better for them. Before I did this y final part from my end on editing was to gather the voice overs of my groupmates and myself and add them to the video. I asked each of them individually for their voice overs. I did one

production blog: editing

Hey blog! it’s me again. Today I will be talking about editing the shots we got while filming. My group and I split the editing evenly and if one of us didn't know how to do a certain part. I was in charge of putting the clips together in timing and cutting them short. The app I used to edit was Capcut. I had gained knowledge on editing because of my previous projects. I started off with adding the correct videos, not the bloopers, into one album. After adding them to one album I proceeded to Capcut. I didn't want to crash or overload the app so I added videos slowly. As I added videos I realized that it was difficult to hear me and my group during the dialogue scenes. I texted my groupmates and told them about this difficulty. After  discussing we came to a conclusion to do voice overs. This added another editing part. Apart from that, as I added the videos I cut the videos the the length they needed to be in. I added the videos in order to make it less difficult for myself.

production blog: acting in the film

Hey blog! its me again. During the filming process I was in the film. I was in at least a minute and 15 seconds of the film. It took many tries for me to get certain facial expressions and movements down. An important part of film is facial expressions and body language because it can help guide the audience on the feeling of the character and setting. Due to learning these actions in the moment it took several tries to get the clip down. I kept on messing up and couldn't keep it serious. After awhile I started to adjust to the expressions that were needed. This helped a lot because it was quicker to film and  made it look more natural. Along with this I also talked in the film. The script was improvised in one scene because it had many mess ups. For my first long talking scene it took me at least 8 tries to get it down even though i practiced before. Besides that scene i got my script down for the most part. The script was definitely easier than the facial expressions and body la

Production blog: Filming

Hey blog! its me again. Quick update, my soccer team made it to semi-final regionals. My group and I met up at Maddie's house to get ready to go to the carnival. I brought all of the props that were needed for the film. Once we arrived at the carnival we decided who films when. I filmed every clip i was not in. It was very difficult to distribute the filming time within each other. The first scene I filmed was a tracking shot. I was standing behind the character and followed them. As this shot was going on it was also an over the shoulder shot. This helped the audience understand it is from a certain perspective of the stalker following the girls. The next scene i filmed was a low angle. I filmed the shoes running on the grass. The final scene i was able to film was following one of the characters after getting seperated from her friend. This scene was also a tracking shot. In this scene the friend was worried looking around and making lots of confused movements. I made sure to ca

Production blog: Prepping for film

Hey blog, its me again. My group and I got together over the weekend to confirm our planning before heading to the carnival. It was a week before going and I was in charge of bringing props we would us for the film. One of the props I brought for the film was a black hoodie for Makenna, I brought this because she was a "stalker" in the film and we needed her to look as mysterious as possible. Another prop we planned to use for this character was a plain black mask because the face reveal of the character would be at the very end. I was not able to find a black mask and moved to our alternate plan and used a scarf instead. One important thing that was needed for the film was a photo album of the character so my group and I made an album of gathered photos that we could scroll through for that scene. I reminded my group to bring money and a wallet when paying for a ticket and carnival games. This would help make the audience of the film understand what we are purchasing for.  A
