production blog: time to start acting

Hey blog! its me again, today I will be talking about how my group and I worked on our project on Tuesday. I got dropped off at my friends house so the filming could begin. My group and I shot some scenes that needed to be filmed inside for about 30 minutes. After a while I asked if the video would be done today and my groupmate Maddie said that she would be busy after 4. This became a problem because one of our scenes is during sunset, which sets a certain mood to the audience when watching. After resolving that out we began to walk to the beach to continued filming. Once they reached the beached they recommended recording the scene off the sand First. it started off with us filming walking scenes mixed with facial expressions. After filming a few of those scenes I realized when we film the water scenes we will not have enough time to record the sand scenes in time. So I told my group that we should begin on that. So after some talking my groupmates agreed. In one of the shots there needed to be my two partners in the shot so I recorded. The shot was a low angle and a wide shot. During this process I also filmed one scene where one of my group mates had to grab a towel, the scene was meant to be dramatic and a close up. I had to record this scene about 4 times. The end result worked out exactly how it was pictured. My group and I were not able to finish filming this day. I suggested we could finish the weekend of or Friday and they agreed. That's it for today blog! Until next time. Karina logging off.

Production Blog: On set

Hye blog! Its me again. It has been about six days since the last time we filmed. Our first time filming was very successful. I started off todays filming day the same way I started it last time. I texted everyone who is on set to confirm whether they are able to make it or not. I started to head to Marianas house but I ended up arriving late due to traffic issues. Since I was already late I stopped by to get small snacks for everyone so we don't have to stop like we did last time. I let my partner know that I was arriving late and that she could get a head start on the filming. Today the goal was to shoot at least 4 new scenes so we can speed up the process. Unfortunately there were many minor things we have forgotten to include in this task. For instance, we forgot to remind everyone to wear the same costume they had on the first day of filming. Next we forgot to provide our new cast member with a list of items they needed to bring for their character, also we forgot to provide s...

Short film research: A Distorted Doll / Horror

Hey, blog! I'm back, and today, I will continue my research on short films. I'll be researching short films in the horror genre since that is the genre I will be using for my project.  I hope you enjoy it!      In this film, some common CAMS it had to the genre were shot-inverse-shot, POV shot, Tracking shot, and zoom-in. These angles and shots allow the audience to see a representation of the film. It is a part of telling a story and can interact with the audience.      Some common sounds in this film included; were diegetic sounds, such as screaming, creaking, and heavy breathing. Also included non-diegetic sound, for instance, background music of suspense. This short film also carried sound bridges and voiceovers.      Common Mis-en-scene in this film included; dark lighting which sets a certain mood in the audience, bruising on the body which is done with makeup and shows a sign of violence, blood which can...
